This one was inspired by the flash of sunlight we often get around the coast of Cornwall, as the sun briefly shows its face after rising or before setting, below quite solid cloud cover.

It named itself really, and I’m attempting to minimalise the knife and brushwork, using colour and texture in the darkness of the sea, yet to be illuminated as the sky lightens.

Painting, oil on canvas 40cm x 40cm, in a wide, deep recessed white wooden frame.  Overall dimensions 60cm x 60cm x 4cm

£495 from the studio or I can arrange delivery by art courier.

I grew up on the north coast of Cornwall and although I’ve lived and worked in Southeast Asia, in Spain and in Scotland, all of which informed my work in different ways, Cornwall has always drawn me home.
