Jackie Hollingsbee, St Ives artist

Paintings inspired by sea, land and architecture in Cornwall and Andalucia

Cornish born, Jackie grew up on the north coast of Cornwall and her work is strongly influenced by the coastline and seascapes of the area. Paintings filled her early family life and she studied painting, pottery and batik work while living in Southeast Asia for several years.

On returning to Cornwall she continued studying at St. Ives and at Penzance School of Art and now lives and works from her studios close to the Hayle estuary in St. Ives Bay and in Spain.  Frequent visits to the Isles of Scilly and the white villages of Andalucia combine with subjects in and on the edges of Penwith to provide the inspiration for much of her recent work.

Jackie is artist-in-residence at Pedn Olva Hotel, The Warren, St. Ives www.pednolva.co.uk and regularly exhibits in St Ives, Marazion and Porthleven in West Cornwall and in the Axarquia, Andalucia.
