THE SOURCE. Two rivers: one source
This work, River Kennal, is the last of my pieces for the project. It’s from OS square 75/37 near Ponsanooth. Oil on canvas 30 x 30, it will be for sale in The Source Exhibition on Easter Saturday at Devoran Village Hall. The venue couldn’t be more appropriate, as this community centre, repurposed and recently modernised, was the Redruth and Chacewater Railway Company steam engine workshop. This was the first steam railway in Britain and was an extension to the original mineral tramway associated with the workings close to the two rivers. If you can, do come along! #TheSourceExhibition #communityartproject #paintingwhereilive #artofcornwall #heritageart #tworiversonesource #cornishheritage #oiloncanvas #markmaking #cornishartist @jackiehollingsbee

Cornish visual artist, working in oils and mixed media

I grew up on the north coast of Cornwall and although I’ve lived and worked in Southeast Asia, in Spain and in Scotland, all of which informed my work in different ways, Cornwall has always drawn me home.
